Sculptors Mark Warren and Chris Pence's porcelain nesting bowl trio was inspired equally by historic Wedgewood Jasperware as well as the wispy clouds that drift elegantly above his North Carolina home. Each piece of functional art is created by carefully crafting two slips during the casting process. The bowls' rich sky blue color is mixed meticulously to resemble the exact hue that occurs during late summer and early fall a transitional period between seasons that the artist says is simply the best time for cloud watching. The bowls' exteriors are left unglazed and are then polished and the interiors are lined with a gloss glaze to allow for easy cleaning making each elegant artwork ideal for cradling special servings of nuts candy and nibbles.
