Used by the Japanese since the seventeenth-century binchotan active charcoal reduces chlorine balances pH and mineralizes your tap water within an hour transforming it into pure delicious filtered water. Inspired by this centuries' old practice and interested in reducing bottle waste designers Dan Black and Martin Blum created this modern interpretation. The slender tube of charcoal can be used for up to six months and its purifying power can be "recharged" after three months by being boiled for ten minutes. After its water purifying powers have been exhausted the charcoal can enrich the soil in your garden or can be tucked in drawers to banish bad odors. Made in Poland.
